Manual Update Using fsdbupdate: Windows

How?

Download and execute the fsdbupate utility fsdbupdate9.exe from our download server. The fsdbupdate utility contains all databases (Antivirus, Spyware, Spam, Parental, etc).

  • F-Secure Policy Manager (version 8)

How?

Download and execute the fsdbupate utility fsdbupdate.exe from our download server. The fsdbupdate utility contains all databases (Antivirus, Spyware, Spam, Parental, etc).


Notes:

  • The fsdbupdate utility works with all F-Secure Anti-Virus products for Windows. However, it not recommended except when there is a problem with the recommended updating methods.
  • After updating the databases with this utiliy, you may later need to download the utility again to update the databases with the most recent definitions.
  • If you are using a download manager (e.g. go!zilla, GetRight et cetera) please make sure that you actually download anti-virus definition updates from f-secure.com and not an unofficial mirror site.

Please note that you do not need to download the database manually if you are able to use the built-in update function.

Database files should be saved in the installation folder. You will need to exit both The Cleaner and TCActive! in order to overwrite the database file.
